"Voetsek!": Man has the most South African reaction to rhino attack
Updated | By Jean-Mari Schmidt
What would you do if a rhinoceros was charging at you?
Many people overseas tend to think that wild animal interactions are a daily occurrence for South Africans.

Fortunately, this is not quite the case, even though Gauteng has had its fair share of wild beasts roaming the area this year.
Most of us would have to put in a fair amount of effort in order to end up face-to-face with animals such as elephants, lions, and rhinos.

There are numerous videos on the internet, however, of people ending up in quite precarious and scary situations with these kinds of animals, and there aren't any "how to react when..." classes at school.
These classes would have been quite handy for one Mzansi photographer who found himself in a very dangerous situation.
Richard Degouveia has shared a video of himself fleeing from a charging rhino and his response in the video is exactly what one would expect from any South African who might find themselves in the same situation.

In the video, Richard is recording himself as a rhinoceros bull walks past his car. He then chooses to leave the scene and as he starts the car, things take a bad turn:

Luckily, Richard escaped unharmed, although maybe a little bit traumatised.
After seeing the video, South Africans have agreed that his response to the attack was the best possible way for him to react in that situation:
So u Voetsek is universal...when in danger...when fighting...when feeling the pain..when dismissing something ...konje njee.....VOETSEK.
