Except for anecdotal reports and stories, it might still be a while before people who aren't twins can understand what they experience and the bond between them.
A set of Australian twins has recently captured the attention of people worldwide.
A local Australian news channel, 7News Queensland, covered the story of a carjacker and interviewed not one witness but two, identical twins, Bridgette and Paula Powers.

The Powers sisters explain how their mother and another man had interacted with the thief and how frightening the incident was.
One Instagram comment probably sums it up perfectly: “Nothing can prepare you for the witness interview 7 News decided to run with on this story."

The original video seems to have been removed from the 7News feed on X, but the clip has now spread like wildfire across the internet.
Some comments included people joking that "Australia cannot be real" or "This is the kind of scene you couldn’t script, characters you couldn’t invent".
While many were shocked to see the twins talking in unison, others took this opportunity to point out that the twins are local heroes for other reasons.

Known as the Twinnies, they are passionate about wildlife rescue and have worked with the late Steve Irwin.
They left school in the 10th grade for health reasons, but started focusing on their passion for animal care. By coincidence, they met Irwin when trying to save a sea turtle.
After their meeting, they started working at the Australia Zoo and have a charity called Twinnies Pelican and Seabird Rescue.
