Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, has supported her daughter from the start. She even worked as the stylist for Destiny's Child while her daughter was in the group.
Tina has often styled her daughter, done her hair for events and more.
Now the mother of two very successful stars is focusing on her journey.
Tina has released her latest book, 'Matriarch', in which she shares more about her life growing up in segregated Texas and raising her daughters.

The book was also the latest pick chosen by Oprah Winfrey, a dear friend, for her book club.
The legendary TV talk show host sat down with Tina to discuss her book during her podcast.
What you did is what I think is so hard to do when you're writing a memoir, and that is to tell your story intimately, personally, but also make it universal. I believe everybody who has a mother, and everybody who is a mother is going to love this story.- Oprah Winfrey

The pair also appeared on 'CBS Mornings' to talk about the memoir.

Oprah shared that although she and Tina have known each other for years, the book includes deeply personal stories that even those closest to Tina had never heard.
One revelation was that Tina was diagnosed with and battled cancer.
I didn't know my grandparents, so it's one of the reasons why I want to do this, is to leave that for my grandchildren, that I want, my great grandchildren, that I might not meet, and they'll have a story in my words, and not someone else interpreting a story.- Tina Knowles
On a lighter note, Oprah also mentioned something very interesting about Beyoncé's name.

Many Beyoncé fans were shocked by this reveal and wondered if that meant they were ever really a fan.
"I honestly did NOT know this. Guess I’m not a member of the Beyhive then?!🙈🙊😱"
Fortunately, you don’t need to know someone’s entire backstory to be a fan.
