According to GoPro, Potgieter’s encounter is one of the most terrifying ever captured – and viewers agree.

In the footage, filmed from his perspective, Potgieter scans his surroundings, seemingly calm – until he suddenly spots a great white approaching from his left.
His startled reaction is audible even underwater.
