Since the 2023 Rugby World Cup, the Springboks have continued showing the world what they are made of.

After a nail-biting 80 minutes, the Springboks claimed a 31–27 victory over New Zealand on Saturday.

The game took place at Ellis Park and the SA team extended its winning streak against their arch-rivals, the All Blacks, to three matches.

South Africans rejoiced as Bok scrum-half Grant Williams scored a 75th-minute try, narrowly securing the win.

In a press conference, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus was asked why he follows the All Blacks official team account on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

He responded in classic Rassie fashion, saying he must have had a few beers before clicking the follow button.

All jokes aside, he also shared that it's a good way to monitor your opposition.

By just looking at their posts, he can see everything from where they are staying to what drills they might be practising.

Even when it might seem like Rassie is just having some fun, he is working and is always looking for new tactics to outsmart his opponents.

It also appears to be paying off.

However, it does seem like the coach wasn't too pleased with the SA team's performance against the All Blacks despite the win:

"We gave them a couple of easy tries, and their turnover attack hurt us the most when our defence was not quite set," he told a press conference. "But we defended really well when things were structured," added Erasmus, who played key roles in the 2019 and 2023 Rugby World Cup victories of the Springboks.

"If the All Blacks had won the Test, they would have deserved it. We know the result could have gone the other way; we could easily have lost. But our character was there."
