However, some viewers are finding that they are quite torn between wanting to watch and find out more and living in complete ignorance.

Sometimes, the less you know the better.

Their latest viral video has reached 36.3-million views and for good reason.

The description they wrote is as follows:

Basically, what they are trying to tell you is that you might be eating the pineapple, but it is also attacking you.

Watch the video below to learn all about the pineapple needles you are consuming:

@sf_microscopy One of my favorite fruits is pineapple, but every time I eat them, my mouth tingles. I read that the fruit contains raphides! Kiwis, grapes, taro, and yams also have large amounts of these crystals. These needles serve as a defensive function against insect herbivors to deter them from eating the plant’s fruits and protect the seeds. The needles work with other chemcial substances, like bromelain in the pineapple, to amplify the effects. #microscope #microbiology #underthemicroscope #microscopy #microcosmos #nature #pineapple #crystals #fyp #fypage #fypシ ♬ Sunshine - WIRA

The content creator has also shared a bunch of other very informative (and maybe a bit scary) videos where they look at other foods:

@sf_microscopy Replying to @Marie✨👸🏻 I love eating McNuggets, but may be this will get me to stop… Fast food is high in sodium content and oils, which might contirbute to how you feel! Drink plenty of water 😆. Microplastics and fibers are unfortunately very common amongst food, and it’s not only a fast food problem. But the way fast food is processed and made may introduce these foreign pieces. It’s an unfortunate reality. Disclaimer: These observations were not done in a controlled lab setting. Video is for entertainment purposes only! I tried to be as clean as possible to risk less contamination on the slide. #microscope #microbiology #underthemicroscope #microscopy #microcosmos #mcnuggets #microfibers #microplastics #fyp #fypシ #fypage ♬ original sound - SF microscopy
@sf_microscopy Did you know that mango is in the same family of plants as poison ivy, sumac, and poison oak? That means the mango fruit itself has a certain concentration of a chemical oil called urushiol- the same oil that causes reactions to poison oak. Some people say their mouths itch after eating mango. This may be due to a phenomenon called “mango mouth.” Either they are experiencing an allergic reaction called oral allergy syndrom or they have some of that urushiol oil on them! The riper the mango gets, the less of this oil is present in the fruit skin. #microscope #microbiology #underthemicroscope #microscopy #microcosmos #fruit #mango #fyp #fypシ #fypage ♬ Chill Day - LAKEY INSPIRED
