Where in South Africa do people earn the most?

Plot twist: It's not in Johannesburg or Cape Town...
If it's not loadshedding, it's inflation, taxes, and other financial issues that cause major strain on households.

At this point as South Africans we can all agree, we are going through the most.
Whether you are trying to find a side hustle that will help you earn a few extra Rands a month, or you are doing your best to work out a realistic budget with what you get, it might be good to know that some new interesting data has recently been released indicating where in the country the highest median salaries are.

The Human Sciences Research Council, University of the Free State, and National Treasury have launched the Spacial Economic Activity Data dashboard. Various economic data points were taken from various municipalities across South Africa and were analysed.
One of the main takeaways and key data points was the median income which showed which municipalities have the highest income earners.

Coming in first place with the highest median salary in SA is Joe Morolong Municipality located in the Northern Cape with R34,599, and even though they are considered economic hubs, Cape Town and Gauteng do not have one municipality that features in the top 10.
The City of Tshwane was calculated at R13,208 and the City of Johannesburg at R11,761.
