Bobby and Karlien van Jaarsveld reach their target with the help of TCB listeners
Updated | By Lee-Roy Wright
Bobby and Karlien van Jaarsveld had an overwhelming response while taking your calls, and reached their target for the El-Shammah Home For Abandoned Babies.
El-Shammah Home For Abandoned Babies has been a place of safety for abandoned, abused, orphaned and neglected babies since 2009. They have the capacity to look after 18 babies at a time. These babies are unwanted elsewhere, but at El-Shammah they find love, care, food, shelter and warmth. Alistair and Merencia Scholtz dedicated their lives to there vulnerable little people, when they themselves tried to adopt a baby. They have a “basket” with a bell at the front gate where babies can be placed, rather than abandoned. They are renting the house in Primrose, but now need to buy it as the owner has to sell the property. They need an amount of R850 000.
Two weeks ago, Bobby and Karlien van Jaarsveld asked to be “Good Morning Angels” for their reality show “In Jou Skoene”.
Since then they had managed to raise R700 000 and this morning they joined us to raise the much needed R150 000. We opened up the lines and allowed Bobby and Karlien to take your calls.
The response was overwhelming! Our listeners came through and the telephone lines kept ringing.
