GMA Coronavirus Support assists parents during lockdown

The GMA Coronavirus Support, in partnership with Lottostar, has R500,000 to share with families in need. 

BACKGROUND:  Hi Martin and the team. Well, I don't know if this as allowed. I am nominating ourselves.

Me and my husband work for ourselves. We work from home. We fix fridges. We'll he does that part. But we use to before lockdown buy old broken fridges. He fixes them and I paint them. We love what we do. And we never make thousands - ever. But we survive. You know. Now sadly, no one wants to restore a fridge never mind pay for something that is really just something nice or cool to have. We have 2 kids. 

Our daughter is 3 and she doesn't understand what's going on. It's really sad. And our boy was born this year 3 Jan. Nappies and milk I can't go without it. And food for our daughter. Me and Louis my husband, make sure she eats. Some nights he won't even eat coz there is not enough to go around. This breaks my heart. I can't begin to explain to you how this has affected me and my family. 

This is going to be the hardest days, weeks in all our lives. 

But I still feel we are blessed in so many ways. We are not sick. We have 2 beautiful kids that we adore. I've tried to make a veggie garden, but it's difficult. I only planted pumpkin coz I had some in my house and I planted a few potatoes also. But that's it.  

My family is what I live for. My kids, they didn't ask for this. Then why they surely don't deserve this.
