Young cricket fanatic, Tiaan Goosen meets his Titans-hero’s
WATCH: Tiaan thanks the Unlimited Titans
BACKGROUND: 10-year old Tiaan Goosen is an avid cricket player from Roodepoort. He plays for his school and his club as a wicket-keeper and batsman. Over the past season he has scored over 800 runs, including hitting two centuries and six fifties. He was part of a Gauteng team that won 7 of their 8 games in the Freedom Week-tournament in Worcester in the Western Cape last December.
Tiaan is one of two boys from the Gauteng team that impressed and were chose to be part of a Western Cape Invitational team to tour India this week. Tiaan celebrates his 11th birthday tomorrow and while they will be away, his mom contacted the Unlimited Titans (who are his favourite team) for a message of support from his hero, Titans wicketkeeper and batsman Heino Kuhn.
The Titans and Heino went way beyond that and invited Tiaan and his family to Supersport Park last Thursday to watch the Titans play the Cobras. Not only did Tiaan meet Heino but he also took him to the teams dressing room, where he met all this hero’s, including AB de Villiers and Albie Morkel.
The team won the game and will be playing the final of the Momentum Cup at Supersport Park on Friday. They also gave Tiaan a signed team shirt. This is definitely more than enough inspiration to keep going and make South Africa proud on tour in India!
