Danny Painter spoke with the indie band about their music, which is making waves on streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music.
Being an independent artist is not easy.
With the music industry being so tight and the finances that go into growing one's band, many artists who are independently managed struggle.
But this Cape Town duo, Emerger, which consists of vocalist/pianist Emma de Goede and producer/multi-instrumentalist Gerry Matthee, is enjoying success.

The music video of the song was released in May. It is a song about their childhood memories and they sing about growing up in the late 90s and falling in love while still in school.
