Danny Painter has a new Jacpod!
Updated | By Danny Painter
The newest member of our Jacpod family is also one of our on-air family members!
As of 1 March, 'The Jo and Danny Show' has become 'The Danny Painter Show’, with the show positioning Danny Painter as the only host, geared towards both South African and international markets.
After 30 episodes together, six months of filming, and 140k views on their channel, Jo Black and Danny Painter have chosen to part ways, with Jo leaving the show to record a new album and focus on another exciting project.
“She is going to take the show to new heights and hopefully, I can still come visit every now and then!” says Jo. The pair still have a close friendship off camera, and will still feature each other as often as possible!
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think that our little bonfire idea in hard lockdown would become something that people loved this much! It was genuinely a way for Jo and I to connect with other great humans and share their stories, I think we learned more about ourselves and our world than anything else. It was never about the views, but when Franz Ressel the COO of XOTV called to me to tell me we had hit 100k, I may have jumped up and down a little! Obviously it's wonderful to see numbers like that, especially in a world where there is so much content that a podcast or a vlog can easily get lost in the noise. I am excited and hopeful that I can continue to bring the content that our viewers and now thanks to Jacpod - listeners know and love, and maybe even grow those numbers!” says Painter.
“I am so excited to be expanding the Danny Painter XOTV Show into the podcast world! I often share clips of the audio on my radio show - 'Love Songs with Danny Painter' on Jacaranda FM, but to have the support and belief from the family at Jacaranda FM in offering me the Jacpod podcasting platform to host the audio, is the most incredible thing!
"This means that whether you would like to listen to the XOTV show, or watch it, you can do either! You will still have the same long format conversations but they will be available through Jacpod now as well! I am genuinely excited and I cannot wait to see what the rest of 2021 brings!"
