Do you know how to treat a burn?
Updated | By Danny Painter
I am ashamed to say, I don't know the difference between a small burn and a life-threatening one.

I'm also ashamed to say, that after all my years of burning hands and fingers on everything from curling irons to stove tops, I don't know how to take care of even the most basic burn. Do you?
Do you run your burn under cold water? Do you make my Ouma happy and cover it in butter? What about vaseline? It turns out my Ouma was wrong.

I spoke to Danielle de Villiers, a STEM academic with a passion for understanding all things science (from Space to Stem cells) and a love for scientific research and writing. After completing her Master of Science (MSc) focused in Medical Immunology (cum laude), she entered the incredible industry of medical devices. One of her first experiences was research and development of an innovative synthetic resorb-able skin substitute.
Another great podcast: El Mukuka is lost, and if you are too, listen to this!
She spoke to me about this substitute skin, but also how to take care of a basic burn at home!
