Hip-hop artist Sakhiwo Ndawose uses hiking and music to rehabilitate youth

The talented youngster is helping change the lives of the youth in his community of Philippi in Cape Town.
“We all have the power to change but it will take one step at a time" - these are the words of Hip-hop artist Sakhiwo Ndawose, who is the proud founder of Blazing Pens Cypher Hikes.
His initiative is aimed at getting the youth off the street and giving them a better future.
Ndawose is using hiking and music to rehabilitate youth in his community.

He works with those whom many have written off in society - ex-gangsters and youth from extreme pasts.
“I wanted to give a safe place for the kids in my community to empower themselves,” Ndawose told Beautiful News.
“We hope that these extreme sports activities will help our youth to overcome their extreme adversities,” he added.
The hiking and climbing adventures take place in Cape Town's national parks.
“Healing is the first step to change your life.”
