Listen: Converse SA wants to help students who are struggling financially
Danny Painter chats to Converse SA's Lee Anne Mckenzie, brand and marketing manager, about its initiative, 'Create Next', which is aimed at helping those studying to pay off their student debt.
The high cost of tertiary education in South Africa is one of the many reasons why the country has a high drop out rate.
Obtaining a diploma or degree costs tens of thousands of Rands, which many South Africans cannot afford.
But Converse SA is determined to help alleviate poverty and help give determined students a chance at a brighter future.
The company has started an initiative called, 'Create Next' - its first movement to aiding in the alleviation of student debt in South Africa.
It will be giving away R2-million towards relieving student debt.

Not only that, but the company will be giving away an additional R500,000 to those who will be breaking barriers to create their next opportunity.
The company aims to do this with the help of artists, innovators, community leaders, sports people, creators, entrepreneurs, game changers, advocates, rebels, activists, designers, and inventors.
