M Field talks Andrew!
Updated | By Danny Painter
After massive success with his band, Beatenburg, Matthew Field decided to do a 'parallel project'.
A solo venture that sees him climbing charts across the country!
In the self titled EP, Matthew explores tension, attention and his universe.
Matthew explains the inspiration behind the EP: “In making an album there is kind of a tension between attention to the part and attention to the whole. In this case I started with attention to each song – some were picked out from old demos and reworked, some were more freshly written. And of course, as time goes on and work is done things begin to cohere in unexpected ways, connections appear that can be strengthened.”
He explains the name: "Calling it simply M Field partly because I like the convention of the eponymous first album, and also because it is the truest way of naming what is common to all the songs. Even more important though is that the songs also give meaning to my name, and in that way name me.”
