Man offers stray dogs a loving home
Updated | By Poelano Malema
This man is making the world a better place by showing love to stray dogs.
Like humans, animals also need to feel loved and cared for, and their rights must be upheld by all.
Sadly, many animals have no shelter.
A report by We Love Pets SA states that '22% of cats and dogs are either living on the streets or currently in a shelter waiting to find a home. This equates to 4.05 million homeless cats and dogs in our country, of which 650,000 live in shelters and 3.4 million are stray'.
One man is determined to save as many dogs as he can.
Although Jerry Selwane has his hands full at the Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory Centre (SARAC), this does not stop him from helping other dogs that he finds in his home town, states Beautiful News.
The man takes stray dogs and provides them with shelter at his home.
With seventeen years of experience as an SPCA inspector, Jerry now works with other members of his community to rescue dogs that have no shelter.
He formed a group that goes by the name, Jerry’s Rangers, which includes his three sons.

Jerry told Beautiful News that “saving one animal won’t change the world, but the world will definitely change for any animal that we save”.
Throughout the years, he has managed to play his part in doing good and saving as many dogs as possible.
