Will technology ever truly care about us?

I love Google Assistant and Google Home more than I can accurately express, but, does it love me back? Will it keep the secrets it knows? Probably not...

Over time we have become more and more in love with our technology and use it to manage our lives. This brought on the invention of a virtual personal assistant.
What I find even more interesting is the fact that a number of people have personal connections with their partner's virtual personal assistant.

For example, a Twitter user recently expressed her shock when her virtual personal assistant referred to her boyfriend by her lover's name.
This, of course, ripped open the secret she's been keeping in one single voice command.
nah I was at my homegirls house chilling. Her and her man were cleaning so her man goes “Alexa play Kodak radio” and Alexa goes “I do not recognize this station Jared” her mans name is mike pic.twitter.com/uFol5BxKHK

Our technology knows absolutely every single thing about us, with Google even reminding me to buy my favourite brand of coffee when it's almost done.
They learn our habits, our loves, our hates, our families and yet, they never learn to love us. The last time I loved without being loved back, I was 19 and in the worst relationship of my life.
Is this not something similar?

Do you think the virtual personal assistants that we are bringing into our homes could ever truly love us, understand us, and protect our secrets? Let me know!
