Alicia Keys takes her #nomakeup movement to the red carpet
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Alicia Keys made her makeup-free red carpet debut at the BET Awards on Sunday and the internet absolutely loved it.
The "Un-Thinkable" hitmaker is determined to stick to her #nomakeup movement, which she revealed recently to Lenny Letter.
"I'd just come from the gym, had a scarf under my baseball cap, and the beautiful photographer Paola (never met a Paola I didn't like) said, 'I have to shoot you right now, like this! The music is raw and real, and these photos have to be too,'" Keys told Lenny Letter.
“I hope to God it's a revolution. Cause I don't want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing," she added. And that's exactly what she did at the BET Awards. Dressed in a black jumpsuit, Keys made her makeup-free red carpet debut and even performed without her make-up on.
Keys received a lot of love from the masses. Below are some of the tweets.
