A university study on honesty found that China was the least honest while Britain was the most honest country out of a sample of 15 surveyed. How do you think South Africa did?
In the day-to-day rush of modern living, how much value do we place on honesty in general?
In South Africa, the levels of cynicism are often linked to general mistrust of public figures, supported by high levels of corruption frequently reported in the media. So when reports surface that South Africa was amongst 15 countries surveyed in various tests set to determine levels of honesty, how do you think we did?
Research from the UK's University of East Anglia has found that people's truthfulness varies between countries, with Britain and Japan scoring the highest for morality, while China and Turkey scored the lowest on this scale.
The countries surveyed are: Brazil, China, Greece, Japan, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, the United States, Argentina, Denmark, the United Kingdom, India, Portugal, South Africa and South Korea.
