Fake Nando’s ad leaves the real Nando’s unhappy
Updated | By Mornings with Mack
Nando’s is known for creating controversial ads that have often gotten South Africans talking. However, this time around, the brand is not taking likely to a fake ad that has been created and shared on social media.
The brand took to Twitter to publicly call out a fake account that created a fake Nando’s ad. The phoney ad calls out Eskom boss Andre de Ruyter for being incompetent.

However, many were not happy with Nando’s, as some viewed it as the brand getting a taste of its own medicine and pointing out that they too have created controversial ads that were in bad taste.

'Meet South Africa’s ‘Prince of Darkness’. It looks like De Ruyter took Teddy Pandegras’ ‘Turn off the Lights’ song literally,' reads the fake ad.
Whilst we value the enthusiasm of fans for our brand, we don’t appreciate the production of these fake ads/parody accounts. This is in bad taste and is in no way aligned to our brand or values. And remember, if it’s not on our page, it’s not ours. @NandosSA is our official page.
