Lightning causes fire at Kruger National Park petrol station

A
lightning strike caused a petrol station at the Kruger National Park to catch
fire which led to the park warning visitors to plan for petrol.
The petrol station located at Lower Sabie was utterly destroyed by the blaze before it was brought under control.

The good news is that nobody was injured by the blaze, although the cost of the destruction is still unknown.
A visitor said that employee vehicles were destroyed in the blaze and “No one was injured. We thought for a moment that we had been struck, and our camper is about 80 metres away.”

Just last month, guests had to be evacuated from the Tamboti and Kingfisherspruit Ranger Post as a precaution due to another fire.
