Permit Patty: Woman calls police on eight-year-old selling water
Updated | By The Workzone with Mack Rapapali
A woman dubbed "Permit Patty" on social media called the police on a child selling bottled water.
The little girl was selling bottled water on a hot day in front of her home when her neighbour, Allison Ettel, the CEO of TreatWell Health, called the police on her for selling water without a permit.
The child’s mother, Erin, posted a video of the encounter on Instagram on Saturday. In the video, the woman can be heard saying: “This woman don't want to let a little girl sell some water. She's calling the police on an 8-year-old little girl.”
Ettel can be seen trying to hide from the camera during the incident.
Ettel has since resigned from her company which sells edible cannabis products.
In an interview with Huffington Post about the incident, Ettel says the incident has left her feeling “horrible and heart-wrenched”.
