Nikkole Paulun posted a photo of her six-year-old son cleaning, cooking, and sweeping. She wrote: “I teach my son to cook & do household chores. Why? Because household work isn't just for women. Because one day he might be a single man, living on his own, who will actually know how to do laundry & not eat take out every night. Because one day he might want to impress a significant other with a meal cooked by his own hands. Because one day when he has kids & a spouse, he's going to need to do his fair share around the home.”

The photo, which has been shared over 50,000 times, resulted in other moms sharing their stories. “I totally agree with this, this is not rong this is teaching our children respect and how to do something on there own. I do the same with my son and he's 3 it's not making kids be our slaves it's teaching our children to be a respectful person and when they grow up they will no what to do for there self's,” another mom wrote alongside a photo of her son doing dishes.
While another mom wrote: “My son is 2 in 2months and he is helping make his fav muffins he's still a bit to young to teach and let him do on his own but he loves cooking and he follows me around when I sweep the floors with his little vacuum and he's learning to put rubbish in the bin and cleaning toys up.... Love what u do teaching your son that and I can't wait to teach my little boy life skills when he is a bit older. And he also try's to help daddy fix daddy's car when dad is.”
