Poll: Online persona vs real life persona

Are you the same person online as you are in real life? Vote in our
poll.

Ahh, the internet. It has brought us amazing things like Google, You Tube, and social media. It has also brought us anonymity. You can literally be whoever you want to be online. How do you think the MTV show “Catfish” came to be?
Rarely does someone’s online persona match their real life persona. The sense of anonymity and “safety” behind our keyboards has given us the confidence to portray our ideal selves (the people we’d like to see ourselves become one day) online.
It’s all about perception, and how we want people to perceive us often leads to us portraying different, more artificial, and successful images of ourselves online.
Just because social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram encourage members to use their real identities online, it doesn’t mean people present themselves the same way online as they do in real life.
Are you the same person online as you are in real life? Have your say in our poll below.
