Shocking footage showing how a grandmother lowered her grandson - by rope - out of their apartment has shocked millions on social media.

According to New York Post, the grandson is seven years old. In the video, the grandmother lowers her grandson over a ledge from her fourth-floor apartment to rescue her cat. The child weighs approximately 20kg and in the video he can be seen safely returning to his grandmother's balcony with the cat that he rescued.
The grandmother has since admitted that she did the wrong thing by putting her grandson in danger.
