Transforming war into peace and love
Updated | By Minenhle Khoza
Cartoonist Gunduz Arghayev is transforming some of the world’s
most iconic war images.

In his attempt to raise awareness about the terrible effects that children in war and poverty-stricken areas suffer from 34-year-old artist Gunduz Arghayev has released a series of images titled “Imagine”.
The images see the Azerbaijan artist recreating some of the world’s most iconic war images featuring children, and he transforms them into pictures filled with peace, love, and happiness.
Some of the images included is the “Napalm Girl” from the Vietnam War and “The Vulture and the Little Girl” from the Sudan famine taken by Kevin Carter.
Naturally, the images have polarised views with some people praising him for the positive images, while others have found them distasteful and offensive.
