Trending: #AskMphoMokoena after Katlehong matriculant confirms he didn't get seven 100%'s
Updated | By Tando Ntunja
Social media was abuzz and lit with news of an incredible 2014 matriculant from Katlehong who supposedly got 100% for seven of his subjects, ahead of Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga's announcement of the national results on Tuesday. Turns out there was a twisting of some of the facts.
Turns out DJ Sbu went and punked many on social media...again!
His Instagram video of Mpho Mokoena of Alafang Secondary School in Katlehong in Joburg's south-east showed that the young man had achieved not one 100% result but seven 100% results for all subjects he sat for in his finals in 2014.
Turns out that Mpho not only didn't get 100% for any of his subjects, but that he also didn't take History.
The Mail and Guardian confirms that Mokoena in fact got 98% for Geography, 96% for Physical Science, 96% for Life Sciences, 95% for Life Orientation, 91% for Mathematics, 89% for Sesotho and 82% for English; all excellent results, nonetheless.
Here is how DJ Sbu went and promoted the young man's achievements:

With the overwhelming reaction on social media, Mpho later went onto a regional talk radio station to confirm that he had in fact already started his tertiary studies in Medicine at UCT

Never to let achievements this incredible slide by, Twitter has now taken to the #AskMphoMokoena hashtag, asking him an array of genius-level (and some rather silly) questions:
