If you're a WhatsApp user, you likely woke up to the App being on statuses this morning.
Users of the app have shared their reactions to having WhatsApp added on their statuses to make announcements.
Some asked how they managed to add themselves while still declaring that they value their clients' privacy. Users say they should have been consulted ahead of the move. Concerned citizens took to Twitter to express their disapproval of the App's new feature.

The Status update seems to be viewable by Android users and it includes a reminder of WhatsApp’s commitment to user privacy.
“WhatsApp is now on Status!” WhatsApp said on the status. “We’ll let you about new features and updates here.”
“One thing that isn’t new is our commitment to your privacy.”
“WhatsApp can’t read or listen to your personal conversations as they’re end-to-end encrypted,” WhatsApp added.
