The
occurrence of a waterspout has people reaching for explanations.

Recently, a video of a rare waterspout in the Eastern Cape left people spooked because they had never seen anything like it before.

In the video, you see a column of water being pulled up into the sky from the Ncorha Dam.
Many locals started reaching for explanations, with one being that it is a sign from God.

An expert did weigh in on the video and explained: “A waterspout is defined by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) as follows: It is normally a relatively small, weak rotating column of air over open water below specific types of cumulus clouds.”
