WATCH: Horrific footage of trucks crashing

Footage of a terrifying accident on the N2 between Ermelo and Piet Retief involving three heavy-duty vehicles has been going viral.

In the footage, you can see some vehicles sitting stationary on the road in heavy fog, limiting visibility.

You then see a man in a high-visibility jacket and other men try to wave down an oncoming truck, but they cannot stop it.

WATCH: Audi driver smashes into the car and flees the scene

The truck smashed into the back of another truck, demolishing the driver's cabin and pushing the other vehicles out of the way.
