Saddened by his wife’s depression, and hoping to restore her joy, the husband started planting a flower garden in hope that one day he would be able to convince her to come out of the house to smell the flowers.
Flowers are more than just plants to many people.
A red rose from a loved one can represent love, a yellow flower from someone can symbolise bonds of friendship, while a pink flower can symbolise gratitude.
A man in Japan has used flowers to not only represent delight for his wife, but to turn his wife’s destiny of misery to joy.
Toshiyuki Kuroki from the rural area of Shintomi in Japan has brought a smile to his wife Yasuko's face after years of depression due to her losing the ability to see due to diabetes.
After two years of hard work, Toshiyuki finally managed to persuade his wife to step out of the house to a beautiful garden of shibazakura flowers. Not only did he manage to restore his wife's joy, but his flower garden has now been become an attraction for thousands of people from all over the world. Those who visit the garden not only do so to view the pretty flowers, but also to witness a true love story.
