Watch: Man tries his best to handle a cougar stalking him

A hiker is lucky to be alive after he was chased by an aggressive cougar for more than six minutes – an encounter that he recorded on his cellphone.

The man, who was filming at the Slate Canyon Trail outside in Utah, came across a tiny cougar cub on his track. But the cute encounter only lasted seconds, when the cub’s mother quickly started chasing him.
In the video shared by News.com.au, the man can be heard screaming at the cougar trying to get it to back away as he ran away. The cougar continued chasing him, all while he kept filming for more than six minutes.
Mid-way through the video, the man can be seen attempting to scare the big cat off by yelling at it, he later picked up a rock, and the cougar suddenly turned and fled.
“Go away! Go to your babies! I’m not coming back down I promise!”
“Oh dammit. Yeah so that just happened,” he said once the cougar was gone.
