WATCH: Massive sinkhole swallows SUV in George
Shocking photos and a video shared on social media showed an SUV almost swallowed whole in George, Western Cape.
In a Facebook post, a user shared pictures of the car submerged underwater in the middle of the road with the caption: "Slaggat in George en my arme neef se kar is weg. Hy en sy seuntjie is darm okay"
Translated: "Pothole in George and my poor cousin's car is gone. He and his little boy are okay"

It is alleged that the sinkhole formed after a pipe burst in the Genevafontein area in George. Videos have been circulating online showing community members surrounding the car in the middle of the road. Some mentioned that the area was cordoned off when the vehicle went in.
