A video showing a businessman narrowly avoiding being kidnapped has been doing the rounds online.

In the video, you see a man get out of his bakkie when another car reverses into view and armed men jump out.
The kidnappers point their weapons at the man and try to force him into the vehicle, but the man manages to draw his own weapon and get a few shots off.
The man managed to escape, but some people were saying that he should have been way more aware of his surroundings.

One person commented: “Situational awareness is very important; always be alert of your surroundings, never be complacent. Also try to park your car facing the road for easier getaways.”.
