WATCH: Unexpected hijacking during load shedding

It’s
one thing having to deal with load shedding, but one unfortunate man's day was
further ruined by a hijacking while the lights were out.

The man can be seen fiddling with his gate trying to close it because the power was out when suddenly three men close in on him.

He hurries to close the gate in his distress; however, the assailants kick him to the ground and take his keys before speeding off in his vehicle.

The neighbours can be seen standing dumbfounded and simply looked on as the event took place, which prompted Twitter users to leave comments lamenting the state of crime in our country.
“These days people just stand, watch, and then record. Crime is out of hand and criminals know the police will do nothing. sad,” one user wrote.
