A woman rehearsed for her own funeral by lying in a coffin for hours while watching her loved ones 'mourn' her death.
A woman named Mayra Alonzo, 59, organised her funeral rehearsal at her home in the city of Santiago, in the Dominican Republic, at the end of April.
Friends and family gathered to bid a tearful goodbye to Alonzo, with some appearing to do an excellent job of fake crying, while others were seen smiling and taking photos.

The whole rehearsal was organised like any other funeral. The lady of the moment arrived at the funeral in a hearse, dressed in white, complete with the cotton in her nostrils to make everything as real as possible. She lay in her rented white coffin for hours and the entire event cost roughly R14,000, according to Listin Diario. The list of expenses included the coffin, as well as refreshments for the guests.
According to reports by The Daily Mail, Alonzo enjoyed the experience and said it was a dream come true.
