An Australian woman has shared the story of how she went in for routine surgery and woke up with an Irish accent.

In her TikTok, she explains that she went for a tonsillectomy, and when she woke up, she had a strong Irish accent even though she is Australian.
In a follow-up video, she explains that the accent is fading slowly, but it comes back with a vengeance when she gets stressed. Apparently, her case will be published in a medical journal soon.
