It's the final instalment of the 'Healthy Eating Series' as we prepare for the Discovery Jacaranda FM Spring Walk.
Last week Chef Vaughn and I shared with you what to do in the 'Taper Week' and today we look at what to do the evening before and the morning of the Discovery Jacaranda FM Spring Walk.
#RACE/WALKMORNING - The typical choices are toast or a small bran or banana muffin with some peanut butter, washed down with some water, coffee, and sports drink.
Other good choices are energy bars made specifically for a pre-run meal like rave food or a granola bar so they contain easily digested carbohydrates.
Please note: Aim to eat about 2 hours prior to the race. Keep it simple. A bowl or shake of future life, with dried fruit, a sports bar, something high energy and easily digestible.
That should do the trick!
