Boxop 1 was headlined by a fight between rock royalty Francois van Coke and rugby legend Derick Hougaard on 29 May last year. After an intense build-up and non-stop speculation about the outcome, Francois Van Coke was crowned champion.
Viewers around South Africa and the world gave the fight a massive thumbs-up and immediately asked for more of the same.
Boxop 2 took place on 6 November last year and pitted yet another rock legend, Prime Circle’s frontman Ross Learmonth, against comedy king Kevin Fraser.
Ross Learmonth won on points.

With the runaway success of the first two installments, the decision was made to host Boxop 3 in winter 2022, but this time with a twist that will whip up a whirlwind of speculation about the outcome.
Boxop 3’s top attraction will be the franchise’s first-ever ladies’ fight between actress and influencer Angelique Gerber and rock musician and recent 'The Voice SA' winner Tasché Burger.
Both ladies will undergo rigorous training to ready themselves for the showdown of the year over the next few months. They will also use the Boxop platform to fight for the causes closest to their hearts.
Eradicating the scourge of gender-based violence in all its manifestations in South Africa and, guided by the fact that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights, sharing the message that tolerance and acceptance are not a dream but a norm that could be cultivated in societies across South Africa.

“I am participating in BOXOP as part of my long-term commitment to help mitigate the impact of gender-based violence and raise funds for the Family Protection Association, an NGO dedicated to rescuing women and children from abusive and violent situations.” Tasché commented that “an existence without equality is existence without dignity. I will always fight for a world where tolerance and understanding shape the lives of people and guide the future of our youth," Gerber said
News about their training progress and information about workshops in support of their causes will be posted on BOXOP SA’s social media pages.
In addition to this highly anticipated fight, guests and viewers can also expect top entertainment from the likes of Francois van Coke, Early B, Rubber Duc, Kurt Darren, Sunset Sweatshop, Synch Peter, Brendan Peyper, Posduif, and many more.
