Burglary suspect cracks jokes during interview
Updated | By Nkhensani Manabe
Speaking from the back of a police car during a news interview, a suspect in an Atlanta burglary decided to make the most of his 15 minutes of fame.
Once you have been nabbed for a crime, do you still have the opportunity to make a stellar TV debut?
In the case of a suspect in a recent Atlanta burglary, the answer is yes.
Speaking to a reporter shortly after being arrested, the young man seemed upbeat and even cracked some jokes.
Though he would not reveal his name to the reporter, the young man did take the time to ask the man with the microphone what station he worked for, so he could give them a shoutout.
He maintained a casual tone, but the robbery suspect did seem to realise the gravity of the situation. When the reporter asked him what he would like to say to his mother, the reply was: "My bad mom ... I'll be home in a couple of days".
