Catching a rogue baseball bat gave this man instant hero status
A baseball fan's quick thinking and incredible hand-eye co-ordination has earned him the admiration of many.
Half the thrill of attending a baseball game is seeing whether you can go through the entire game without having someone's drink spilled on you, getting caught on the jumbotron or getting hit by a flying ball or bat. And, if any of these things do happen to you, you need to make a good story out of it.
For one couple watching the RedHawks take on the St. Paul's Saints, it was a well-timed combination of baseball mishaps that propelled them to internet fame.

The RedHawks batter hit the ball and sent it flying, losing his bat in the process. The camera follows the rogue bat as it hurtles towards the stand, where one man does what any brave soul would do: he catches it.

But the catch is made more spectacular by the man's technique: he caught it with one hand, effortlessly, while he held a cup of beer in the other. He didn't flinch and he didn't spill one drop of his drink. What a man!
And things get even more interesting: the man caught the bat just before it hit his wife, scoring himself a kiss and probably a lifetime of favours.
