Cyclist throws himself in front of a car in this elaborate insurance scam

Motorists in Nottingham have been warned to be on the lookout for opportunistic cyclists on the road.
The incidence of cyclists deliberately throwing themselves in front of moving vehicles has been on the rise in Nottingham.
A report by Metro states that the opportunistic bikers are known to lie down in the road and feign injury in attempts to claim insurance money from drivers.
Two drivers in Nottingham witnessed one such scam early this week. A cyclist threw himself off his bike and lay in the road in front of Elizabeth Apsley's car. Elizabeth recalls slowing down well before coming into contact with the cyclist.

Elizabeth's passenger, who suspected that the cyclist was attempting what is known as a 'crash for cash' scam, shouted at the cyclist, who then got up from the floor, shouted back, and pushed his bike away.
The occupants of the vehicle had informed the man that they were recording the incident on their dashcam.
This was clearly not something the scammer had bargained on.
