Disney fans stand frozen as a favourite ride bursts into flames
Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
Disney World's Festival of Fantasy parade came to a fiery end - and park visitors did nothing but stand by and watch the flames.
It can be said that a trip to a major amusement park like Disney World is an opportunity to take as many pictures of any and everything that you see.
After all, the happiest place on earth is also the most beautiful, right?
But what if the happiest place suddenly turns into the scariest place? Of course, some of the character rides are designed to give visitors a little thrill, but no one was expecting their experience with the Maleficent cast to end in flames.
While watching the show that the animatronic dragon from the Sleeping Beauty-inspired movie was putting on, revellers were shocked to see the character burst into flames.
The dragon is designed to shoot smoke and flames through its large nostrils at regular intervals as it moves through the parade, but this time something went very wrong.
Tourists stood and watched as the flames grew into a fire that engulfed the dragon's head. The fire was quickly extinguished, but not before the dragon's head fell to the ground.
Amazingly, the tourists who witnessed the fire chose to lift their phones and record the incident instead of fleeing.
It seems that nothing is off limits when it comes to capturing long-lasting memories - not even the clear and present danger of a dragon's head on fire.
If you go to Disney World and you don't take pictures, then did you really have any fun at all?
Besides, if you are lucky enough to see a fire-breathing dragon in real life, you can be forgiven for risking injury to get the perfect shot.
