Dr Adriana Marais joined the Scenic Drive to talk about Proudly Human and her plans to go to Mars.
Dr Adriana Marais is the Founder of Proudly Human, pioneering new frontiers in research and technology for a resilient future on Earth, Mars, and beyond.
Dr Marais is a director at the Foundation for Space Development Africa.

Dr Marais is a theoretical physicist, with an MSc in quantum cryptography, a PhD in quantum biology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and is designing a blockchain-based resource management system as part of her second PhD at UCT.
Dr Marais is also a member of the SA 4th Industrial Revolution Ministerial Task Team.
Previously, Dr Adriana was Head of Innovation at SAP Africa.

Dr Marais was one of the 100 astronaut candidates for the Mars One project which aimed to send humans to settle on Mars, but the project declared bankruptcy last year.
But this is not stopping Dr Marais.
Dr Marais is working on making her way to Mars - and she shared more about it with the Scenic Drive team.
