Entrepreneur Nandi Mkwanazi farms to make a difference in South Africa

Nandi Mkwanazi has no formal training in agriculture - but helping her grandmother grow food made her a successful entrepreneur, farmer, and business owner.
From a young age, Nandi Mkwanazi always knew that she would one day become an entrepreneur.
The 34-year-old from Benoni shares her knowledge with the community on how to grow their own food in a bid to address challenges of poverty and unemployment.

But where did it all started? Mkwanazi’s green fingers can be traced back to her beloved grandmother’s passion for gardening.
Mkwanazi doesn’t have an academic background in agriculture. She gained the skills of growing food from her grandmother. Later on, she made sure that she aligned herself with people that are experts in the industry. They mentored her and she learned the skills that she could have learnt at varsity.

Mkwanazi is the founder and Managing Director of Nanloy Organic Farm, a social enterprise which uses regenerative farming methods to provide sustainable food security solutions for local markets, and those who lack access to organically grown vegetables.
Nandi Mkwanazi inspired the Scenic Drive team and joined the team to share more about her passion for farming and providing food for her community.
