Google Maps has added a riot function with a live tracker for Gauteng

Scores of people have looted malls and destroyed property in KZN and Gauteng for a fifth consecutive day.
Former president Jacob Zuma’s arrest last week sparked protests by pro-Zuma supporters. The protests have now turned into anarchy.

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has deployed 2,500 soldiers to violence-ridden hotspot areas in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
South Africans have been gripped by harrowing images of burning trucks, looted retail shops, and buildings on fire.

On Monday, police have recalled members who are on leave or deployed anywhere else in the country to reinforce those battling to quell the violence.
On Wednesday morning, Jacaranda FM News reported that at least 72 people have died as a result of the ongoing violence and looting in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

For the fifth consecutive day, South Africans have been living in fear not knowing if it is safe to go buy bread at their nearest shop.
Google Maps has added a riot function with a live tracker for Gauteng. Residents in Gauteng are now able to track where riots and looting are happening. This will help residents avoid those areas.
Red areas are no-go areas.
