The Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory Centre in Zuurbekom, south of Johannesburg, takes in and cares for dogs of all breeds. If you would like to adopt one of them, read on.
The Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory Centre (SARAC) in the south of Johannesburg has become a trusted rescue shelter for dogs over the years.
Jerry Selwane, who runs the Centre, is a former SPCA inspector who is focused on rehabilitating abused animals, as well as educating people on how to properly care for their household pets.
Jerry and his staff are always looking for new families for the animals at SARAC.
Here are some of the dogs that Jerry hopes to place in permanent homes very soon.
"My name is Champ. I am a two-year-old male Jack Russell. I am very well-behaved and obedient, and I love being around people and kids. I am also very active and playful - that's why I'm the champion companion!"
"My name is Roxy. I am an 18-month-old female Boerboel. I am very friendly and loving. I'm very good with children and other animals. I love being around people."
"My name is Fluffy. I am an 18-month-old Border Collie. I'm very playful and love being around people and kids. I am also a lap dog - I will lay on you for hours on end!"
Thanks to the Scenic Drive listeners, most of these adorable pups now have a forever home!
