Since last year February, the Scenic Drive with Rian team has been unable to have their well-known #Straatbraai due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jacaranda FM and the team decided to have their very first virtual #BackyardBraai. Listeners across the world were able to join the #BackyardBraai.

Listeners from Botswana, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America registered to be part of the virtual braai. Watch the video here.
In 2021, the team decided to continue to visit listeners' homes to braai in their backyards.
The team visited Elaine Geldenhuys in Hartbeespoort for the first #BackyardBraai of 2021.
