Hiker crushed by falling sheep
Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
A teenager on a hike in Northern Ireland was met with an unfortunate fate as the animal fell on top of him while he walked the trail.
Hiking up the side of a mountain comes with a number of risks - narrow paths, poisonous plants, loose rocks - which are all manageable. The worst that could happen is a sprained ankle, right?
But for one teenager hiking up Slieve Bearnagh in Northern Island, it turned out the worst that could happen was much, much worse than anyone expected.
As the boy and his group made their way up the mountain, a sheep came tumbling down from overhead. The animal landed on top of the teenager.

The Mourne Mountain Rescue Team was alerted immediately and when medical personnel arrived on the scene he was treated for potential neck, back, leg, and abdominal injuries. He was transferred to the emergency department at Ulster Hospital.
The teenager was soon discharged from the hospital.
Reportedly, the sheep escaped the scene uninjured.
